This is supported by Community Action Redbridge and the Ilford Exchange.

Chair Based Reggae
This Chair Based Reggae exercise group is a mixed group of individuals age ranged from 45 to 87 years of age who have made the very conscious decision to get up, and get out and about. They are truly ‘Ageless’ and uncompromising, and testament idea that although they are not part of the visible workforce they still have a great deal to give and do!
One of the aims for the CBR group is to improve health and well-being alongside improving mobility in general. This is underpinned by deliberate methods of exercise delivery which also target social isolation, and emotional health.
Many in the CBR group do some form of exercise at other venues, sometimes with the same Instructor. However this group have shared experiences of the Windrush generational saga. They are determined to live life to the fullest for as long as they are able.
Attendees have an opportunity to reminisce on many levels.
Music choices remind them of former times, and they are encouraged to recall the lyrics. Exercises are structured so that attendees multi-task through memory and physical exercises. They are also challenged to remember the names of the muscle groups that are being focused on.
All exercises are demonstrated by the instructor, who offers adapted versions of the exercise to ensure that all attendees feel comfortable to do as much as they are able to do.
In addition, weekly meetings of the CBR group serves to create a welcoming heartwarming atmosphere. It is a gathering/setting where one can ‘forget’ the social, emotional stresses of daily life for a moment. No attendee leaves the class without a smile.

From our Soul Line Dancing Afternoon Dinner Dance to the largest Soul Line Dance in a venue of world class proportions, the Copper Box Arena London.  We take our Soul Line Dancing seriously but with passion and fun!
